XENTRY Diagnosis Lite: Comprehensive Diagnostics for Your Mercedes-Benz, Including Maybach

For independent workshops seeking a robust and versatile diagnostic solution, XENTRY Diagnosis Lite offers an exceptional option tailored for standard PCs. This specialized diagnostic tool provides in-depth capabilities for a wide range of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, extending to the prestigious Maybach series.

Operating on conventional PC hardware, XENTRY Diagnosis Lite delivers powerful diagnostic functionality without requiring proprietary or dedicated equipment. The package includes the standard XENTRY Diagnosis VCI, ensuring seamless and reliable communication with the vehicle’s systems.

Who is Eligible for XENTRY Diagnosis Lite?

XENTRY Diagnosis Lite is exclusively available to independent operators, aligning with EC regulation 2018/858. To expedite your application, verification of your eligibility as a motor vehicle workshop or a company specializing in motor vehicle repairs is necessary. This requires submitting documentation such as your trade license, commercial register entry, professional qualification in the automotive trade, or other official documents confirming your business purpose. This ensures that authorized professionals are equipped with the right tools to service vehicles, including high-end models like Maybach.

Important Considerations When Ordering XENTRY Diagnosis Lite

CRITICAL INFORMATION:

  • XENTRY Diagnosis Lite is exclusively for standard PCs without an existing active StartKey or contract.
  • If you currently have an active StartKey or contract for a XENTRY Pass Thru EU system on a specific hardware ID, you cannot order XENTRY Diagnosis Lite for the same hardware. You must utilize a different, unoccupied standard PC or await the expiration of your current XENTRY Pass Thru EU contract. This distinction is important for managing diagnostic solutions across different vehicle lines, including Mercedes-Benz Maybach.

XENTRY Diagnosis Lite Pricing Structure

The cost of XENTRY Diagnosis Lite is composed of both fixed and variable components, providing flexibility while ensuring access to comprehensive diagnostic capabilities, essential for vehicles from standard models to Maybach luxury cars.

Fixed Price Components:

  • Annual flat user fee specific to the product, covering online operating costs and access to support services (Applicable only for contract renewals, not for initial orders).
  • One-time hardware cost for the XENTRY Diagnosis COM Kit (VCI and accessories).

Variable Price Components:

  • Consumption of pre-purchased time credit units for accessing diagnostic data.
  • Automated management of time credit usage by the diagnostics application.
  • A credit unit is activated upon opening the diagnostics system and continues to decrement until expiry, even after the diagnostic session concludes or when switching between vehicles, ensuring efficient tracking for all diagnostic work, including on Maybach vehicles.

Hardware-costs, one-time €1,522.00 (One-time)

After installing the basic setup via the download link in Mercedes-Benz B2B Connect, you can order the StartKey through the same portal. The hardware ID required for ordering the StartKey can be found using the “ConfigAssist” tool in “System Data.” This streamlined process makes it easy to get started with diagnostics for all Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including Maybach.

The StartKey also enables certain end devices, such as laptops, to run diagnosis applications using the unique hardware ID, offering flexibility in your workshop setup and allowing diagnostics to be performed on various vehicle types, including Maybach.

Essential System Requirements:

Important Note on Time Credits

A credit unit remains valid after the diagnostic session ends or when vehicles are changed until it expires. Time credits purchased in error or no longer needed are non-returnable and non-refundable. Unused or unactivated time credits upon contract expiration are also non-refundable. However, credit is transferred upon contract extension, providing continued value for your investment in diagnostics, whether for standard Mercedes-Benz vehicles or high-end Maybach models.

Utilizing diagnostic content requires a persistent online connection for:

  • Accessing diagnostic data, which occurs per diagnostic session, ensuring up-to-date information for every vehicle serviced, including Maybach.
  • Verifying access authorizations for data content (StartKey), maintaining security and compliance.
  • Checking contractual data, ensuring your access is current and valid.

New Mandatory Login Procedure

Our updated security measures ensure secure access and usage of XENTRY Diagnosis software through a two-stage login process. This enhanced security is crucial for protecting sensitive vehicle data and maintaining the integrity of diagnostic operations, particularly for high-value vehicles like Maybach.

Login requires both your personal user ID and password, along with the standard diagnostics role, which can be requested via the UMAS platform. This personalized access ensures accountability and traceability for all diagnostic activities, contributing to a more secure workshop environment when servicing vehicles across the Mercedes-Benz range, including Maybach.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of the identification procedure, also initiated via UMAS unless a local identification process is used in your market. Your role will be assigned via a button on the platform. The identification process via UMAS/IDnow is a one-time requirement. This streamlined process enhances security without adding ongoing complexity for users performing diagnostics on any Mercedes-Benz vehicle, including Maybach.

This security standard applies across all brands and divisions, mandating personal login for all diagnostic users. Anonymous access to vehicle and back-end services is no longer permitted. The standard diagnostics role is generally required for all diagnostic tasks. Control unit commissioning for series 213 model update 2020 and series 223 and newer requires the extended XENTRY Flash role. These security measures are in place to protect all vehicles, especially high-end models like Maybach, from unauthorized access and modifications.

Role Assignment Details:

1. XENTRY Standard Diagnostic Rights:

Each diagnostic user must independently apply for standard diagnostic rights via https://umas.mercedes-benz.com/umas/ and complete the one-time identification. Independent service providers (independent workshops) without a user ID can apply via: https://umas.mercedes-benz.com/orgprocess/. Select “New Registration” if you are not yet a Mercedes-Benz Group AG customer, or “Registered Organization” if your organization is registered but you lack a User ID. This ensures that all technicians working on Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including Maybach, are properly authorized and identified.

Contact your local IT administrator or support via the headset icon on the right side of the UMAS page for assistance.

2. XENTRY Flash Authorization:

Both XENTRY Flash roles (Standard-Flash role and Extended Flash role for all CeBAS vehicles) can be requested via UMAS. Each user must complete a one-time identification via UMAS to obtain Flash roles. This ensures that only authorized personnel can perform critical control unit commissioning and flashing procedures, safeguarding the integrity of vehicle systems, especially in advanced vehicles like Maybach.

More information on XENTRY diagnostic user rights and Flash rights is available here.
