Activating your Mercedes-Benz diagnostic software, specifically the 2019.12 version of Xentry, is a crucial step to ensure seamless vehicle diagnostics and repairs. This guide provides a detailed, step-by-step walkthrough for activating your Xentry software using the MB SD Connect C4 interface. Whether you are a seasoned automotive technician or a dedicated DIY enthusiast, this tutorial will simplify the activation process, allowing you to quickly get your diagnostic system up and running. Follow these instructions carefully to successfully activate your Xentry 2019 software and unlock the full potential of your MB SD Connect C4 tool.

Step 1: Generate Hardware ID

Begin by creating a new text document on your computer. Next, locate and run the “GetHardware ID_NoRing0” application. This tool will provide your hardware ID, which is essential for generating your software license. Copy this Hardware ID. You will need to send this ID to your software provider or dealer to receive your unique “lincense.dat” activation file.

Step 2: Access EWA Software and Obtain MAC Address (LAN-ID)

Open the DAS (Diagnostic Assistance System) software and press the “ESC” key to exit. Then, navigate to the EWA software. Log in using the default credentials: username “admin” and password “12345”. Once logged in, locate and copy the current MAC address, also known as LAN-ID. Paste this MAC address into the text document you created in Step 1, alongside your Hardware ID.

Step 3: Utilize CarProKey Application for EPCnet and WISnet Keys

Launch the “CarProkey” application. Within CarProkey, select the option labeled “EPCnetWISnet for EWA”. Copy the LAN-ID you saved in the text file and paste it into the “LanHW ID” field in CarProkey. Input your desired user details and modify the expiration date as needed. After filling in the required information, click the “GENERATE” button.

CarProKey will generate activation keys. Copy the EPCnet number and paste it into the “StartKey” field in the EWA page. Similarly, copy the WISnet number and paste it into the “WIS/A SRA option” field within EWA. Finally, click “Save” in EWA to apply these settings.

Step 4: Run EPC and WIS/ASRA Applications in EWA

In the EWA main menu, click on “Programs” to access the application list. From this list, run the “EPC application” followed by the “WIS/ASRA application”. This step ensures that the necessary electronic parts catalog and workshop information system components are active within your Xentry environment.

Step 5: Configure SDconnect in ConfigAssist and Access Xentry Developer

Open “ConfigAssist” and select your “SDconnect” device. Choose the “Configure” option and click on the lock icon to proceed with configuration. Next, launch “Xentry Developer”.

Step 6: Generate Xentry Developer License

Within “Xentry Developer”, copy the Hardware ID from ConfigAssist and paste it into the designated field in Xentry Developer. Adjust the “start & expiration date” according to your license terms. Click “Generate” to create the Xentry license key.

Step 7: Install Xentry StartKey in ConfigAssist

Copy the generated license string number from Xentry Developer. Return to “ConfigAssist” and navigate to the “Manual” option. Paste the copied license string number into the “Startkey” field. This action will install the StartKey and activate your Xentry software.

Step 8: Launch XENTRY Diagnosis Software

With the StartKey successfully installed, you can now run the XENTRY diagnosis software. Your 2019.12 MB SD Connect C4 Xentry software is now fully activated and ready for use.

This activation guide is broadly applicable to various MB SD Connect C4 software versions, including Xentry software v2018.12, v2019.12, and even v2020.03. By following these steps, you can ensure a smooth and successful activation of your Mercedes-Benz diagnostic software.
