As an auto repair professional at xentryportal.store, we’ve encountered a frustrating issue with the Xentry diagnostic software after applying a specific patch. This article details our experience and the challenges we’ve faced, particularly concerning the “Xentry Patch” provided to address a specific vehicle compatibility problem.
Our troubles began when attempting to diagnose and program a 2016 Mercedes G65 (W463 model). We encountered initial difficulties, which led us to contact MBDiag support for assistance. In response, we were provided with a software patch, specifically a “xentry patch” intended to resolve the W463 communication issue. However, instead of fixing the problem, this patch seems to have introduced a more significant and widespread malfunction.
Since applying this “xentry patch”, our Xentry software now crashes every time we attempt to log into any Mercedes vehicle, regardless of the model year. This complete diagnostic failure has effectively rendered our Xentry system unusable for Mercedes vehicles. Prior to this patch, while we had experienced limitations in programming certain models after the 03/2021 Xentry update, basic diagnostics were still functional. Now, even that capability is gone.
We have invested considerable time and effort in seeking a solution. Over twenty documented emails have been exchanged with MBDiag support personnel, including Ronnie, Jesse, and Mirek. Despite this extensive communication, we have yet to receive a satisfactory explanation or a viable fix for the “xentry patch” induced crashes. The support experience has been far from helpful, leaving us in a state of diagnostic paralysis.
Adding to our frustration is the history of issues we’ve had with this system from the outset. From initial order delays and delayed software access to the programming limitations after the 03/2021 update, the journey has been fraught with challenges. The suggestion from support that upgrading to a significantly more expensive “Kit 4 package” would resolve our problems feels dismissive and reinforces concerns about the level of support for J2534 devices within the Mercedes ecosystem.
This experience raises serious questions about the reliability of certain “xentry patch” updates and the overall support provided for independent repair shops utilizing J2534 tools for Mercedes diagnostics and programming. It appears that instead of facilitating independent repair, the current system and support structure may inadvertently push businesses towards more expensive, proprietary dealership tools. We are actively seeking a resolution to these “xentry patch” related issues to restore our diagnostic capabilities and continue serving our customers effectively.
